1: Advance and Retard cable bracket for BTH M type magnetos
These types of magneto often come in for repair with a broken bracket or it's missing altogether. Once we had used our last 'spare' original, we had a batch of them laser cut in stainless steel. The hole for the cable adjuster is tapped 1/4" BSF. The slot for the cable is wide enough to give clearance for a No 2 inner cable. The two mounting holes are clearance size for 2BA mounting screws.
Originally, the mounting holes would have been countersunk but needs to be done on the correct side depending on whether the cable comes down to the left or to the right of the points housing. Original brackets were countersunk on both sides. That approach makes it a universal bracket that could be used on either side. Unfortunately, this makes them quite fragile and they often break across the hole on the angled corner. Our new brackets do not have countersunk holes. If you let us know whether you need a left bracket (bottom in the picture) or a right bracket (top in the picture) we will countersink the holes accordingly before dispatch. If you don't tell us, we will send the bracket as shown. You could then countersink the holes yourself or fit the bracket as it is with cheese head or round head screws.

Over the years, we have used a lot of this type of cap for the starting point of our MO1/N1 cut out caps. Quite often, our supplier at the time couldn't supply in the quantities we wanted so we had to go looking for someone else. There were plenty to choose from. Some supplied caps in aluminium, some were plated brass or steel. Unfortunately, they seemed to all have a problem with the fit. Too many in a given batch, often the entire batch, were too small on the inner diameter and wouldn't fit over the raised boss on the magneto end housing. Frustrating but, once we had made a jig to hold the cap in the lathe, it was a fairly easy job to enlarge the inner diameter.
Then we came across a manufacturer in the UK who could supply us with very good quality caps. We have been using these ever since. As we have plenty of them, we decided to add them to the Sales page. Slightly more expensive than others on the market but these are made in stainless steel so they look good and, more importantly, they fit - every time!

The following parts are all used parts which are surplus to our requirements. We usually like to keep everything just in case it may be required for a magneto overhaul which we are working on. That is our main activity after all so has to take priority. That said, we sometimes have more of a part than we are ever likely to need in which case we will list it here. Be quick though - it is very likely to be the only one we have for sale!
